ARTS 1070

A continuation of Drawing I with emphasis on advanced visual and conceptual problem solving

including a practical survey of contemporary issues and practices in drawing.

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Understand and use experimental approaches to mark-making

  • Speak about relevant critical issues of contemporary drawing practice

  • Bring a host of drawing related tools and skill to bear on the task of visual problem-solving

Additionally, by completion of the Drawing I and II sequence, the student is considered to be equipped

with a solid foundational view of drawing theory and practice, a view that will be essential to junior and

senior level image-oriented projects in the various disciplines of the visual arts.
